About Yfat Yossifor

Yfat Yossifor landed in Texas in March 2016 after four years up north. She moved to San Angelo to join the Standard-Times team as the chief photojournalist. 

Yossifor graduated from Cal State Fullerton in 2003 with a BA in anthropology. Since college, she has worked as a commercial photographer, shooting weddings and portraits. She returned to school to study photojournalism at Northern Arizona University. Yossifor graduated from NAU with a BS in Journalism with a photojournalism emphasis in December 2011.

In January 2012Yossifor interned at The Bay City Times and MLive.com. She stayed in Bay County as the multimedia specialist until March 2016.

In 2015, She was part of the team when The Bay City Times was named the 2015 Michigan Press Association Newspaper of the Year. 

Yossifor was the recipient of three first-places awards in the 2016 Texas APME awards in  STAR online package of the year, sports photography and photojournalism.

Chief Photojournalist, writer responsible for coverage of news, work on large scale projects as well as manage the photo department.

2012   Mlive Media Group
Photographer / writer, still and video, coverage of daily assignments for arts, events, portraits and features. Creating online galleries, and online news posts. Long term story packages including photo essays, videos and articles.

2011   The Arizona Republic
Photographer intern, photograph and edit daily assignments for community events, news, sports and portraits. Worked alone and with staff photographers on assignments, editing and review. Returned in Fall 2011 for a second internship, continued to work on daily still photography assignments and long term video projects.

Fall 2010   Arizona Daily Sun
Photography intern, coverage of daily assignments, editing and writing cutlines under minimal supervision. Finding events and features for stand alone art by following up on local scenes.
